Federal Government Finds Itself Innocent.

In the shadow of their relentless online JazzFest coverage, the Times Picayune is running a short, poorly written (surprise!) piece on how the federal government has once again sidestepped any accountability for its violent neglect of the citizens of New Orleans in the wake of (laughingly constructed) levees breaking.

A Short-Lived Experiment.

I barred myself from watching W - well, I'd say "speak," but "stumble," "slur," "pout," "chide" and "insist on his beyond-transparently stupid rhetoric in the face of all logic" would be the more accurate verbs - a while back, outside of The Daily Show.

Tonight, I attempted to watch his post-vetoing... collection of angry sentence fragments. I unmuted the television just in time to hear him applying the same "facts" he was so fond of pushing in the immediate wake of September 11: "...Al Qaeda, who trained men to come over to American soil and--[mute reactivated]"

SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU IDIOT! IRAQ WAS NOT BEHIND 9/11 AND YOU KNOW IT, YOU FUCKING PSYCHOTIC CHILD, WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE SEND SOMEONE OVER TO HIS SOIL TO -

It was a short-lived experiment.

And This is the Democrats' Dream Candidate?

"Mr. Obama reassures liberal audiences about the role of religion in public life, and he tells conservative Christians that he understands why abortion horrifies them and why they may prefer to curb H.I.V. through abstinence instead of condoms.

AIDS has spread in part because 'the relationship between men and women, between sexuality and spirituality, has broken down, and needs to be repaired,' he said to thunderous applause in December at the megachurch in California led by the Rev. Rick Warren, a best-selling author."

How "evolved."
