Platform Denial

If you interview someone, does that mean you're endorsing them? 

A lot of people who are not trained in the craft of journalism seem to have adopted this belief as fact, with step two then being to proclaim anyone interviewing someone they despise—some of whom, sure, they despise with good reason—a bad person who ought to be refusing to interview them, who ought to, in the parlance of our times, deny them a platform.
