As someone who was a New Orleanian before, during, after, I don't have the same breathless energy to offer as the breathless experts who are really feeling themselves today, re: that reporting they did there, re: their righteousness, stolen for show, re: what is actually: their kinks about devastation and rubbernecking that are none too well disguised as charity, as morals.

The Way It Is

It’s the emptiness you want to hide from, deny

The void beneath the plans, corporate Americans

make doing business difficult, enjoy
inflicting pain for gain. Meanwhile
their hostility is non-committal,
disinterested, already
moved on

to its next target, and I wonder why
even as I am told
by everyone, including myself,
that this is just
the way it is.

Happiness Excuses: Wild

In this country, you ever notice how people who have the most also whine the most? They're rotted out inside, missing all the things their money can't buy, money acquired in a system that rewards misanthropy but does not bestow automatic happiness in return, man

Please stop sending business emails outside of business hours, the excuses as to why you're doing this do not interest me and outside of business hours, neither do you
